About Me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Debra Van Patten. I'm a wife, mother to two boys, and I am a Close To My Heart Consultant located in Washington, Indiana. I started stamping in 1999 and started scrapbooking in 2002. I fell in love with the scrapbooking products that Close To My Heart had to offer and became a consultant in August of 2003.

I would love to share with you our complete line of quality scrapbooking, card making, paper crafting, and stamping products. We truly have something for everyone, from our faster, simpler and easier My Reflections™ Scrapbooking Kits and My Originals™ Card Making Kits to our revolutionary My Acrylix™ stamp sets.

Close To My Heart's mission is "show you how to celebrate relationships through discovering your creativity, to preserve and share the moments that matter most." We fulfill this mission with our wonderful products and programs. Whether you are just beginning or you are a seasoned veteran, Close To My Heart has something for everyone. My Achievements
I started out as a hobbyist when I signed up. I wasn't out to build a big business and quit my "day" job. It wasn't until one full year after I'd signed up that I received my first award from my Upline. I was quite surprised to find an envelope from my Upline in my mailbox with a "Round of Applause" with a pretty green ribbon that read "Over $500 in Sales". How often do YOU get told you are doing a great job at YOUR "day" job? I know I don't hear it very often. Better yet, how often do YOU get a simple reward like my pretty green ribbon?

Even years later, I still am not out to build a big business, or quit my "day" job. However, the simple little acknowledgements, ribbons, and awards I've received over the years have brightened my day more than once and made me feel special.
