Stamp of the Month Blog Hop {A Little Thanks}

It's time once again for our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month, we are featuring November's Stamp of the Month, A Little Thanks, set of 16.  A perfect stamp set for this month, and any other time, to remember all we are thankful for and celebrate those we are thankful for as well.

If you've come from {Tammy's Blog}, you're on the right path. We have over 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I decided to do something just a tad bit different this month.  I've been trying to come up with a way to make a placemat without having to sew ever since Jeanette posted her's here.  I know how to sew, but don't own a sewing machine, and don't have the space for one right now.  It finally dawned on me the other day that our new Flip Flaps in the 12" assortment could also work.  Here's what I came up with....

I used the Olivia Papers, the Ta Da template from Magic, and a die cut paper from the old Felicity kit as a template for the center mat.  I apologize for the glare - this is what it looks like with the Flip Flaps.
The placemat works out to 12x20 using the 4" Flip Flaps.
I trimmed a 12x12 Memory Protector close to the seam, taking off the holes and little section that helps it lay flat in our albums.  Then I adhered the Flip Flaps on either side, on the back of the protector (the opening for the sides is under the placemat to help protect the artwork from spills).
Hopefully, that made sense - if not, let me know and I will try to do a visual.

Here's a shot out of the Flip Flaps. There are two 4" sections and one 12x12 section.
I used the Ta Da template from Magic for the "Family" title, as well as the pieces on the side mats.
To resize the template, I used the scaling options in Adobe on the print screen.
You can select "multiple pages per sheet" then the number of pages you wish.
I don't remember which size I ended up using as I was playing (sorry).

Here's the left side.
I stamped various quotes from the stamp set in Barn Red.
I then used the small floral stamp and Sunset ink to add some depth and color to the tags.

Here's the right side.
Again, I stamped various quotes from the stamp set.
The "2010" is Friendship Alphabet Small.
This can be added to a scrapbook after your Thanksgiving Feast.

Here's the center mat.
The frame was done using one of the die cut sheets from an old Felicity Kit. I just traced around it onto Sunset Cardstock then cut out. And did the same again for the B&T paper (yes, I cut the original die cut sheet).

The small floral "Give Thanks" was stamped in Sunset ink.
For the "mat", I flipped the stamp over and used the solid side stamped in Barn Red.

Supplies:
Stamps: A Little Thanks (SOTM), Friendship Alphabet Large, Friendship Alphabet Small,

Now "Hop" on over to {Antoinettes's Blog} to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! How fun! I can totally see making a variety of placemats for little kids - they can decorate their own, or you can make them extra special - like this!
